1 – Terms & Conditions – GENERAL

Please read this carefully. By accessing Metropolitan Home Ownership’s web site at www.mho.co.uk or Tower Homes web site at www.tower.co.uk or www.housingoptions.co.uk (the “Web Site”) you are agreeing to the terms that appear below. If you have any questions, please contact us by clicking here

Introduction

As a user, you will be able to access material on all public areas of the Site. Metropolitan Housing Trust Group (which MHO is part of) does not make any charge for you to access the Site. However, you should be aware that your Internet Service Provider and/or telephone operator may charge you for time spent accessing the Site in the same way that you are charged for making telephone calls. You should contact your operator if you require details of these charges.

There is no specific time limit applying to your access and use of the Site under these Terms. However, MHO and Tower Homes reserves the right to suspend or terminate access and use of the Site at any time. It may exercise this right with or without notice.

Changes to these Terms

MHO/Tower Homes reserves the right, at its discretion, to make changes to any part of the Site and its related services. Due to its policy of updating and improving the Site, the MHO/Tower Homes may wish to change these Terms, and will do so without notice.

Though we endeavour to ensure the accuracy of information on the Web site, The MHTG and Tower Homes would suggest you confirm details of any information before acting upon them.

Metropolitan Home Ownership and Tower Homes reserves the right to gather information relating to site usage. Any information gathered is primarily for internal use to allow us to refine and improve our customer service. We do not in the main part gather specific information from individuals. Where we will do so we will state clearly that this is the case, and we will make sure this is held securely and in compliance with all relevant legislation.

Where disclosure of information to a third party is likely we will, where possible, endeavour to ensure that this is clearly indicated.

Metropolitan Home Ownership and Tower Homes are data controllers under the Data Protection Act 1998. We will process personal information you have supplied to us in accordance with that Act and only for the purpose for which it is collected. We process information only for the purposes specified in our notifications to the Information Commissioner.

2 – Terms & Conditions – SERVICE SPECIFIC PRIVACY STATEMENT

Participation in the scheme

After clicking the ‘submit’ button on the form, we will hold a copy of your information on our database. We will take no further action until the paper copy, with valid signature(s), is received. Should we not receive the paper copy after a reasonable period of time has elapsed, or there is a problem with your request, we may contact you to identify if you remain interested in the scheme.

Disclosure

The information you submit will be held in confidence, unless a legal obligation or duty requires its disclosure. As stated, your personal data will be available as a matter of course to other Registered Social Landlords participating in the scheme.

Leaving the Scheme

You may opt out of this scheme by notifying us in writing at any time. We will comply with your request within 4 working days and respond to you confirming that the information has been removed from our files/databases.

Accuracy of information

We will contact you annually to find out if there are any changes in your circumstances, and if the data we hold on you is up to date and accurate. We will also ask if you wish to remain part of the scheme. If we receive no response from this correspondence we will remove you from the database after a reasonable period of time.

Please contact us at any time if you feel we hold out of date or inaccurate information on you. We will be happy to respond to all requests as appropriate within 4 working days, and will notify you of any changes made to your personal data.

Other rights

If you wish to see or gain a copy of any information we hold we will be happy to help. This does not affect your statutory rights under the Data Protection Act 1998.
